  • Image pixels and PDF pages are preserved
  • Batch process any number of files
  • Original files are never modified

How It Works

Every photo and document you share can carry a hidden layer of information that has nothing to do with what you can see on screen. A holiday photo can pin the exact GPS coordinates of your home; a résumé can name the computer it was written on; a spreadsheet can list everyone who edited it. This tool reads each file, rebuilds it without that hidden layer, and hands you back a clean copy. all locally in your browser, so nothing is ever uploaded.

Photos (JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF)

Digital cameras and phones embed EXIF metadata: the camera make and model, exposure settings, the date and time, a small preview thumbnail and, most sensitively, GPS coordinates. For JPEG and PNG files the stripper removes the metadata segments byte-for-byte, leaving the image data untouched, so there is no re-compression and no quality loss. Other formats are re-encoded through a canvas, which also discards every metadata block.

PDF documents

PDFs keep an Info dictionary and an XMP stream describing the author, title, subject, keywords, the software that produced the file and creation / modification timestamps. The stripper clears these fields and removes the XMP metadata while keeping every page exactly as it was.

Office documents (DOCX, XLSX, PPTX)

Modern Office files are really ZIP archives with a set of docProps files inside them (core.xml, app.xml and custom.xml). These hold the author, company, manager, last-modified-by name, revision count, total editing time and any custom properties. The stripper removes those property files and repackages the archive, leaving your actual content intact.

Your privacy

All processing happens client-side using your browser's own APIs. Your files are never sent to any server, never logged and never leave your computer.
